Complex Public Safety & Commercial Background Investigations
ZH Investigation understands that your Public Safety agency or Private Business is invested in hiring individuals who exemplify honesty, integrity, and honor. This investigative report will provide your hiring team with real and actionable information that you can be confident in making applicant decisions, while having foresight on their past employment behaviors with an insight on their future employment characteristics.
ZH Investigation will compare your applicant’s employment application information with a historical comprehensive review of their employment, financial, criminal/driving, legal, educational, and media history.
We will also provide you with a Personnel Profile Evaluation (PEP) report after your candidate completes a written or on-line PEP questionnaire. PEP evaluates the following standards based on your candidate’s test: Applicant’s honesty, reporting, dishonesty, socialization, drugs, employment background, work ethic, absenteeism, and tardiness. The PEP results will provide you with a valuable insight into your applicant’s attitudes, values and tangible background revelations.
Upon our conclusive investigation, we can identify that your candidate is who they have represented and identified themselves to you during the hiring process. This investigation will document your applicant’s past employment and their work behaviors during the prior ten years. In addition, we can compare your applicant’s core perspectives in what they tell you during an employment interview and what their past employment behaviors have been. As we all know, if an applicant has a documented history of being late, missing too many days, or stealing from employers – why would they not do the same things when they work for you?
ZH Investigation will provide a Background Investigation application. Your applicant must complete the entire application and all required documents must be signed and sealed by a notary. Our background investigator will document all proven incomplete, inaccurate, or dishonest information/statements during the background investigation.
The background investigation includes verifying applicant employment history, education history, credit history, civil judgments, military service/discharge, references, birth certificate, Selective Service registration, social security number, residential history, criminal/driving history, Personnel Evaluation Profile, Accurint/TLO reports, and local history.
Our background investigator will conduct a recorded face-to-face interview with your applicant. This interview will review their application, testing results (if applicable), Personnel Evaluation Profile results, baseline employment background investigation questions and employment background information discovered during the investigation.
At the conclusion of the investigation, our background investigator will complete a comprehensive report of information discovered during the investigation, including all mandatory requirements for the position in question. The investigation will be packaged in a classification folder for your filing ease, or the file can be emailed for electronic storage. Employers can review the investigation and make the decision to hire the candidate or to pass on the applicant in accordance with your hiring standards and policies.

Cold Case Consulting
During my law enforcement career, I have been fortunate to lead several Attempted Homicide, Homicide and Cold Case Homicide cases. I have managed several active complex investigations by relying on Incident Command principles, which involved creating an Incident Commander (IC) position and allotting investigative resources to the investigation. In this manner, the IC does not become personally involved in the investigation, but manages the information, data, and investigative leads. During my career, this was an invaluable management resource to solve violent criminal acts and complex criminal cases.
